Mechanical Draft Chimney Liner
At Brickhaus chimney we prefer to install mechanically drafted fireplace liners. This benefits the longevity of the usability of your chimney in multiple ways. As homes get more and more air tight (windows, doors, insulation, etc) and appliances get stronger at using or forcing air out of the home (range hoods, bathroom fans, etc) most homes in today's world suffer from negative pressure effects.
Conventional chimney drafting is typically a thing of the past and in today's standard are well outnumbered. Negative pressure could result in even the closest of ratios on a reline to still cause smoke backup. Mechanical draft Enervex fans are the only manufacturer guaranteed option to cause no smoke backup when in use.

Crown Coat
Crown Coat has been proven to be a great option for cracking chimney crowns and partially rusted chase pans. CrownCoat can be used wherever a long lasting waterproof membrane is needed. The surface is sanded down for the best possible adhesion, larger cracks and voids are filled with a long lasting sealant, and 2 coats of Crown Coat are applied over top.

Water Repellent
Chimney Saver
ChimneySaver Water-Base Water Repellent is a penetrating, V.O.C. compliant, water repellent which contains a proprietary modified siloxane. This water-based siloxane penetrates masonry up to 1/4 inch or more depending on surface porosity and moisture content at the time of application. ChimneySaver Water-Base Water Repellent reacts with the minerals in masonry in the presence of ultraviolet light and atmospheric moisture.
This reaction forms strong permanent bonds beneath the surface and creates a hydrophobic zone that prevents water molecules from penetrating, while allowing free migration of water vapors. The chemical bonds formed in this process allow ChimneySaver Water-Base Water Repellent to become an integral part of the substrate and provide long term water repellent protection.
